A Wes Anderson wedding in Brighton

I you know me even remotely, you will know I have an infinite love for Wes Anderson and all things Wes. That’s why when Katie & Adam mentioned they were having a Wes Anderson wedding in Sunny Brighton I was over the moon(rise kingdom) that they’d booked me to photograph the day!

The plan was for the couple and their nearest and dearest to get hitched at Brighton Registry office, a quick drink at local jaunt The Mesmerist before a busride over to Lancing for the festivities to really kick off!

Katie got ready in the most amazing airbnb in Lancing above the reception while Adam treated guests for a pint in Brighton. Though early on, the nods to a Wes Anderson wedding were subtle, they were very noticable to a true Wes fan! From Katie’s cute pin badge to Adam’s cufflinks, even Katie’s flowers took on the colour pallete of a typical Wes Anderson film.

The true detail of the legend was at the couples Lancing wedding reception at . From table plans, to the decorations for the vintage polaroid guest book. I was in my element! I was almost dizzy with excitement as I got to capture their beautifully Wes dining area. 

The couple opted for super relaxed speeches from their nearest family members before partying on down with life music from a local Brigton band. I left the couple and the guests partying into the sea front air at dusk with pocket full of Mendl style cake and my heart absolutely aching to watch Grand Budapest Hotel again
