Voodoo Ray’s London Pizza Wedding | Verity & Jay’s Rock’n’Roll wedding

A Voodoo Ray’s London pizza Wedding!

The first wedding of 2023 I HAD to blog about was Verity & Jay’s incredible Voodoo Ray’s London Pizza wedding. Getting hitched at Hackney Town Hall with their nearest babes, we headed down to Voodoo Ray’s in Peckham to eat pizza, drink very strong rum cocktails, laugh & cry at speeches and get down to the DJ. So sit back and enjoy Verity & Jay’s Rock N Roll London Voodoo Ray’s Pizza wedding!

relaxed Hackney Town Hall Wedding

Verity’s earliest stipulation to me was making sure it was a very relaxed Hackney Town Hall wedding ceremony. No bells & whistles…she wanted to marry Jay and put a ring on both their fingers. So Hackney Town Hall was the perfect backdrop for these Londoners. Getting married in the wooden-clad Committee Rooms, Jay walked down the aisle with his parents, and Verity walked the aisle with her dad. Son Wolfie joined the couple during their vow exchange and just like that, the pair were hitched and the celebrations could begin!

Hackney town Hall confetti

The epic moment after Verity & Jay tied the knot was full of red & pink heart shaped confetti on the steps of Hackney Town Hall. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy this mighty bomb of coloured confetti and the couple soaked up the cheers and feel good confetti from their guests. The steps at Hackney Town Hall also give you loads of space. The couples’ guests filtered from the steps onto the street in front and created an extra long confetti aisle for the pair.

Red London bus for London wedding

What better way to transport your guests around London on your wedding day than a traditional red London bus. Verity & Jay organised cocktails, beers and even delicious burek from the mega talented Mystic Burek who are good friends to the couple. Music was played, creating a real party atmosphere. Despite the heat, the kids tucked into goody bags of games and sweets whilst the adults enjoyed their own goody bags of filo slices and booze!

Voodoo Ray’s Pizza Wedding in Peckham

When it came to choosing the perfect venue for their wedding reception, V & J picked extremely well. Voodoo Ray’s Pizza in Peckham was decorated with a huge balloon garland and badges were provided for the guests. With copious amounts of margarita’s and tequila bottles full of the good stuff, guests were greeted to the best hosts in Peckham! The warm Summer’s day meant guests could drink both in and out, spilling onto the streets of Peckham Rye.

Voodoo Rays know good pizza. Huge pizza pies came out for guests to graze at throughout the meal time. With a quick portrait session that included those EPIC Morley’s chicken portraits, we headed back in for the loveliest speeches from Verity & Jay’s closest people.

A tradition in Verity’s family meant a mega sword was brought out to cut the custom wedding cake made by Verity’s mum and the party then officially started. I left the couple to their dance floor and the cocktails were flowing as I said my goodbyes.

Thank you Verity & Jay for having me <3
